There are times when a certain recipe, drink or food, demands a moment of reverent silence. Taking the first sip of this mocha frappe, laced with brandy, cinnamon and a pinch of cayenne pepper, was certainly one of those moments. This is more than a frosty coffee drink, but rather a dessert-like beverage with a certain “je ne sais quoi”. How I wish I could take credit for this recipe, but the pat on the back (or bowing at one’s feet) belongs to one of my favorite bloggers.
Deb and her husband, affectionately referred to as “The Professor”, are the brains and taste buds behind the blog Smith Bites. With recipes such as White Cherry and Peach Jam and Squash and Pecorino Frittata, the duo tempt us with their innovative flavors and entertain us with their storytelling. I give them a heartfelt thanks for this frappe. You two are magicians!
