Cocktails, Recipes & Red Faced Runners Together

WeekEndCollage3

It’s time to kick off the weekend and what better way to do that than with some of my favorite cocktails and recipes? As soon as the clock strikes five on Friday afternoon, the bottle of red wine starts calling to me. In the summer, sometimes that siren call comes in the form of an icy libation such as a Watermelon Limeade Vodka Cocktail, Rum Punch with Ginger Beer & Pineapple Juice or a brunch favorite, The Caesar Cocktail (aka the Canadian Bloody Mary).

This week’s recipes both fell into the category of quick and easy. One is an energy-boosting granola bar (low sugar and low fat), perfect for a pre- or post-workout snack. The other is a warm, melty panini, filled with summertime vegetables and herbs.

Red Faced Runners:
Last weekend, the EVO Conference (the Evolution of Women in Social Media) took place up at the beautiful Canyons Resort in Park City. While I didn’t attend the conference this year, I couldn’t resist heading up with the family to see some of my favorite bloggers that were in town. But first, we had to slip in some rides on the alpine coaster…my speed demon sons were thrilled!

And I couldn’t resist giving huge hugs to some of my fellow Red Faced Runners.

Fun with the kids:
And what’s a summer’s day without a trip to the pool? We headed to the pool with my good friend (and running partner), Staci. Her sweet son climbed to the top of the 3-meter diving board for the first time and jumped off without hesitation. Of course, the two mums had to join in on the diving board fun…cannonballs and all. At least our kids were amused.

It’s time to welcome the weekend. Have a great one!
