Bundle up classic apple pie filling in egg roll wrappers, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and bake until they reach crispy perfection.
It's not hard to tell the holidays are here. This is my second dessert post this week which, as most of you know, is a little unusual in this healthy kitchen. Don't worry, there are some healthy savory recipes coming up. In the meantime, indulge wisely in these baked apple pie rolls. Do you have to make pie pastry for these rolls? Nope. Just pick up a package of egg roll wrappers from your local grocery store. They're typically found in the produce section.
Full credit for this recipe goes to Maya of Alaska From Scratch. On her blog, Maya chronicles her family's move from California to Alaska and shares her creative recipes. Just a few that caught my eye: Tomato Basil Spaghetti Squash Bake, Baked Brie with Cranberry Chutney, Pretzel Peanut Butter Cups and Sweet Potato Hummus with Baked Flour Tortilla Chips.
Thanks to Maya for this fantastic recipe, which spares me the embarassment of showing off my pie dough ineptitude. Head over to the Tasty Kitchen blog for the recipe.
