Way to go, Alan! Losing 60 pounds is such a great accomplishment. I love the ease of MyFitnessPal and, yes, that food scanner makes it even more convenient to use. Good luck with reaching your goal!

Hi Barb, I'm so glad that you and your husband are enjoying the granola bars. I did mention in the post that these are meant to be soft and chewy (I think I need to bold that because you're not the first one who's asked). The applesauce in them, as well as the banana make them really moist. I hope you continue to enjoy the recipes here!

Hi Dara,

I've made your low fat granola bars twice now and my husband and I really enjoy them. I have a few questions about them. Are they supposed to be a soft bar or crispy/crunchy? Mine usually turn out pretty soft. I follow your recipe exactly. Please let me know how they are for you. thanks a lot!

Hi Dara!

I have been struggling with artichoke (cleaning them, preparing them, cooking them, etc.) Can you help me? I don't want a dip or spread, just how to make artichokes as a simple side dish! My mom used to make it with olive oil and capers and it was out of this world, but I can't seem to get it!

I saw your article and when u mentioned myfitnesspal.com I had to send u a note..I've been using this website for 8 months now and have lost 60 pounds. I believe keeping a journal is the big secret and of course when they added the feature where u can scan ur food maid it even easier. I'm going for another 10to15 than maintain my Bmi. I do think that using a journal will have to be a forever thing but with these smart phones it's really no big thing.
Good luck.
