It’s that spooky time of year again and I’ve pulled out my favorite savory and sweet Halloween recipes for you. Boo!
As much as I love diving into an Almond Joy or two (or three…ahem) on Halloween, I get even more excited for the projects and recipes leading up to the big day. Appetizers (devilish eggs!), snacks (roasted pumpkin seeds) and dinner ideas (enchiladas!) are what I really crave and this post has all of my favorites in one handy place.
And guess what…almost all of them are healthy! I know I need a little dose of “healthy” when my kids when through the door with pounds of candy.
Let’s dive in!
Devilish Avocado Sriracha Deviled Eggs
These mayo-less avocado deviled eggs are all dressed up for Halloween, but are fantastic snacks or appetizers any old time. In fact, we snacked happily snacked on these for a couple of days after I made them. Great energy boost in the afternoon!

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds: Two Ways
There’s no ifs, ands or buts about it. This is my all-time favorite Halloween snack! My mum used to roast pumpkin seeds every year when I was kid (she still does it for herself and my dad) and now I’ve carried on the tradition with my kids. While they’re scooping out and carving the pumpkins with my husband, I’m drying the seeds, and salting and roasting them. Addictive!

Pumpkin & Chicken Enchiladas
This twist on a classic chicken enchilada recipe pairs pumpkin and Greek yogurt for a healthy tangy-sweet sauce with a kick of jalapeno peppers. My kids and their friends absolutely loved these!

Whole Wheat Pumpkin Spice Latte Muffins
Coffee, pumpkin and spices all wrapped up in a tender, healthy muffin. These are not your average “muffin-masquerading-as-cake” muffins. These are made with whole wheat flour, Greek yogurt and pumpkin puree, and are a mere 145 calories per muffin. And oh my, are they ever good!

Halloween Mummy Cookies
This was such a fun project to do with my boys, and is a great way to channel some of that Halloween energy before the big day. This would even be a fun project to set up at a Halloween party. Let the kids go crazy with their own mummy creations!
