Caramelized Cabbage Recipe

A spectacularly delicious side dish! Great for St. Patrick's Day.

CUT IN HALF THROUGH THE CORE THEN REMOVE THE CORE. THINLY SLICE THE CABBAGE. 

HEAT OLIVE OIL IN A LARGE SKILLET. ADD THE SLICED CABBAGE AND ONIONS.

ONCE THE CABBAGE COOKS DOWN A BIT, USE A WOODEN SPOON TO STIR AND SCRAPE BROWNED BITS OFF THE SKILLET. 

AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES, STIR IN THE SALT AND RED PEPPER FLAKES. 

COOK UNTIL CARAMELIZED, ABOUT 20 MINUTES. ADD THE GARLIC AND GRATED NUTMEG.

SERVING IDEAS

Serve as a side dish. Or in a roasted veggie bowl. Or stir into a white wine sauce and serve over cooked chicken or pork.
