For our family, New Year’s Eve isn’t about Dick Clark (now morphed to Ryan Seacrest) and his rockin’ countdown. It’s not even about the champagne and the sparkly party hats, though a plentitude of champagne makes those party hats and blowers seem surprisingly amusing.
New Year’s Eve means hors d’oeuvres of every kind (smoked salmon appetizers always make an appearance) and the star of the show…fondue! Bread dipped into hot gooey cheese and wine, and thinly sliced bison tenderloin and vegetables cooked in piping hot chicken broth are something we look forward to from January 1st to December 30th every year.
But I know what you’re really here for: cocktails and appetizer ideas. These are some of our favorite recipes, and I hope you find something here that will help you ring in the new year.
Let’s get this party started.
