Grilled Chicken Wings Recipe with Rosemary & Garlic
Let's not pretend that chicken wings are healthy in the traditional sense. In other words, they're definitely not low in fat or cholesterol. However, I do think there's a place for some saturated fat in our diets in moderation (and in larger amounts if you're following a keto diet). And I know for certain that healthy living is all about balance, which means that I can feel free to indulge in a serving of grilled chicken wings when they're served alongside a pile of balsamic grilled vegetables and are marinated in a no-sugar vinaigrette.
Grilling chicken wings couldn't be easier, put I've included plenty of tips below. The beauty of this recipe is that there are fewer than 10 ingredients and most are staples that are probably tucked away in your fridge and pantry, ready to shine in this recipe.
How to grill chicken wings:
- Chicken wings are often sold with the wings and drumettes attached. To separate them, pull them apart firmly and cut through the connector that joins them. In this recipe, both the wings and the drumettes are used and everyone seems to have their favorites when serving time rolls around.
- Combine all of the marinade ingredients in a resealable plastic bag - olive oil, white wine vinegar, dried crushed rosemary (affiliate), minced garlic, salt and pepper. Add the chicken, seal the bag and massage to cover the chicken with the marinade.
- Marinate for at least 1 hour and up to 24 hours. The longer the chicken is marinated, the more flavor will be imparted into the meat.
- Heat the grill to high, then adjust the burners to medium heat. Light coat the grates with oil.
- The big question...how long to grill chicken wings. The grilling time will depend on the size of the drumettes and wings. For U10 to U12 (10 to 12 wings to a pound) chicken wings, I cooked them for 15 to 18 minutes. The chicken should be cooked through, but not dry, and with some charred areas on the outside of the chicken. Charred = flavor!

I'm going to try these with chicken legs. For some reason wings are SO expensive by me, and the kids like having chicken legs (I make buffalo wing inspired chicken legs too). This marinade sounds AMAZING!!
