"Mum, there is going to be a new ocean tomorrow."
"Why's that, T?"
"Because of all the tears we've cried."
The past two days have been rough. On Wednesday evening, we had to say good-bye to our sweet pup, Tiana. She has been with us since she was 18 months old, when she had a "career change" and left the guide dog training program. She has been in our boys' lives for as long as they can remember and we were all deeply attached to her gentle nature and kind soul.
Each day since she's been gone, we've looked for her at the back door, on her favorite soft bed and beside us as we walk up to bed each night. We can't seem to stop looking for her. Our minds won't let us believe that she is truly gone.
Tiana was not just a pet, she was truly a member of our family. Our memories of daily life, holidays with our families and camping trips are entwined with memories of her.
They are good memories and we will will treasure those forever.
But, oh, how she will be missed.
Rest easy, sweet girl. We love you to the ends of the earth.
Judith
I am so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful member of your family. How hollow your home must feel at this time. Blessings to each of you.

Anyone who has ever had a pet in their life, knows the heartache you have right now. No words can make it better. But time does help. We lost our golden about two months ago -- one of many dogs/cats we've had in our home and have lost. There is no replacing, but yet, another dog/cat is out there waiting to have a home with you. I know that - we have just gotten Koda - a Australian Shepherd - two weeks ago. He is now pals with Max, our Corgi, who was Ginny's best friend. We all needed to take a bit of time before we brought in a new family member, but we knew we would. By the way, we lost a black lab about two years ago (and brought Max in to live with us) and black labs are just special!! I hope all these messages help you Dara, and your sweet family. It does get easier, but I will say that I came across Ginny's collar the other day and made the mistake of smelling it, and I couldn't stop crying.

I am so sorry for you're loss of your sweet family member. She is at the "Rainbow Bridge", and will be waiting to reunite, some day. Hugs
Dara
Thank you, Deb. How I hope that we will see her again one day!
Ellynn
So sorry to hear about your loss. Dogs are definitely a part of our family and I can only imagine how difficult it has been to lose her. Keep her memories in your heart and know how lucky she was to have your family as hers.
Dara
Thank you, Ellynn. And we were so lucky to have her, too! 🙂
Ali
Sorry guys 🙁 I had a black lab that looked nearly identical to your girl, named Muffin. Labs are such wonderful family dogs and we miss our 'pup' too. 🙂
Dara
Thank you, Ali. They really are. My thoughts are with you and your girl.
Marsha
I'm so sorry. Hugs to you all.
Dara
Thank you so much, Marsha.

I'm so, so sorry for your loss. Unfortunately I know how you are feeling right now.
Take care and know she'll see you at the Rainbow Bridge.
Dara
Thank you, Jenny. I hold onto the thought that we will indeed see her again one day.

So sorry to hear your news 🙁
We've had to say good-bye a couple of times to dogs that have passed on. One is still very fresh in my mind as we lost Chloe, our most recent Golden Retriever, a little over a year ago. It is tough. So very tough. And a person never really gets over it. Never truly gets passed it. But they'll always be around...in a special place in your heart.
I'm shedding a tear right now just thinking about our sweet little girl Chloe :'(
Take care.
Dara
Thank you so much, Rob. I'm so sorry about Chloe. It sounds as though she was showered with love when she was with you.

I also feel your pain, just lost my JRT in April and I miss him everyday. He has years of sickness and it finally got the best of him no matter how hard my vet and I worked with him, Diabetis, Cushings etc. but he made in 13 yrs 9 days and had
wonderful like and that is what I keep hanging on too.
He is now sitting on shelf in kitchen with some of his hair that I clipped and just touching it makes me feel better.
Memories will last forever.
Dara
Thank you, Lorene. I'm so sorry for your loss. It sounds as though your JRT was well loved and cared for.
